Tacoma (AAA) 7, Las Vegas 5

TACOMA, Wash. – Tyler O’Neill hit a walk-off two-run homer with one out in the ninth inning, as the Tacoma Rainiers (41-37) topped the Las Vegas 51s (30-50) 7-5 on Thursday.

After Las Vegas’ Travis Taijeron hit a grand slam in the top of the eighth, Tacoma tied the game 5-5 in the bottom of the inning when D.J. Peterson hit a sacrifice fly, scoring Boog Powell.

O’Neill homered and singled, scoring a couple of runs while also driving home two in the win.

Emilio Pagan (2-1) got the win with a scoreless inning in relief while Hansel Robles (0-1) took the loss in the Pacific Coast League game.

Tacoma improved to 8-3 against Las Vegas this season.

San Antonio 6, Arkansas (AA) 3

LITTLE ROCK, Ark. – Alberth Martinez hit a three-run home run as part of a six-run first inning and the San Antonio Missions (46-31) beat the Arkansas Travelers (34-43) 6-3 on Thursday.

The Missions batted around – and then some – in the opening frame against Arkansas starter – and former big league pitcher – Justin DeFratus (2-4). DeFratus allowed six earned runs on eight hits and a walk with two strikeouts over 5 1/3 innings.

Enyel De Los Santos (5-4) struck out seven over six innings for the win. He gave up three runs on six hits and two walks over six innings.

Ian Miller went 2 for 3 with a triple and two runs for Arkansas to raise his league-leading batting average to .342, while Kyle Waldrop added a pair of hits.

Modesto (High-A) 8, Visalia 1

MODESTO, Calif. – Reggie McClain tossed a six-hit complete game and Rayder Ascanio went 1 for 2, as the Modesto Nuts (45-33) topped the Visalia Rawhide (39-39) 8-1 on Thursday. The Nuts swept the four-game series with the win.

McClain (8-5) allowed one run while striking out nine to get the win.

Down 1-0, the Nuts took the lead for good with three runs in the second inning. Braden Bishop hit a two-run triple en route to the two-run lead.

The Nuts later scored in three additional innings to finish off the blowout, including three runs in the third.

Jose Almonte (5-6) went 4 1/3 innings, allowing eight runs and seven hits in the California League game. He also struck out three and walked three.

Modesto improved to 8-2 against Visalia this season.

Kane County 5, Clinton (Low-A) 2

GENEVA, Ill. – Ben DeLuzio hit a run-scoring single in the sixth inning, leading the Kane County Cougars (44-31) to a 5-2 win over the Clinton LumberKings (33-42) on Thursday.

Trevor Simms got Dimas Ojeda to ground out with runners on first and third to end the game for his second save of the season.

The single by DeLuzio came in the midst of a four-run inning and gave the Cougars a 3-2 lead. Later in the inning, Raymel Flores hit a two-run double.

The LumberKings took a 2-1 lead when Ojeda hit an RBI single, bringing home Gareth Morgan in the fifth.

Luis Silverio tripled and singled, scoring two runs for Kane County.

Sam Lewis (3-1) got the win in relief while Steven Moyers (0-2) took the loss in the Midwest League game.

Kane County improved to 7-1 against Clinton this season.

Hillsboro 5, Everett (Short-A) 4

HILLSBORO, Ore. – Tim Susnara hit a walk-off single with two outs in the ninth inning, as the Hillsboro Hops (7-8) defeated the Everett AquaSox (7-8) 5-4 on Thursday.

Yan Sanchez scored the game-winning run after he reached base with a single, advanced to second on a single by Paxton De La Garza and then went to third on an out.

After the AquaSox scored two runs in the top of the seventh, Hillsboro tied the game 4-4 in the bottom of the inning when Bryan Araiza scored on an error.

Hillsboro starter Tyler Keele allowed four runs and six hits over six innings. He also struck out one and walked two. Junior Garcia (1-0) got the win with three innings of scoreless, two-hit relief while Matt Clancy (0-1) took the loss in the Northwest League game.

Daulton Varsho homered and singled in the win.

Hillsboro improved to 4-2 against Everett this season.
