Area track and field: Washington State athletes make marks in California events

Washington State assistant Allix Potratz-Lee powered to a 3,000-meter steeplechase win at the San Francisco Distance Carnival. Potratz-Lee finished in 10 minutes, 17.27 seconds. Emily Dwyer added a fourth-place finish at 10:31.5.

Kyler Little crossed in 11th place in the men’s steeplechase, finishing in 9:08.04.

Chandler Teigen won the Section 4 1,500 for WSU after finishing in 3:49.18 at the Stanford Invitational.

Sam Levora ran the 5,000 in 14:01.63 to finish third in the Section 3 race.

Devon Bortfield came in 13th after running 16:17.29 in Section 3 of the women’s 5,000.

Justin Janke ran the 1,500 in 3:52.02 for sixth place in Section 4.

Brock Eager earned the win for the Cougars at the UCLA Bruins Legends in the hammer with a toss of 212 feet, 3 inches.

WSU’s Travis Pickett came in fourth in the same event with a throw of 195-9 1/2.
