With so many new players, the 2016-2017 Gonzaga Bulldogs began the season with more questions than answers. Everyone was pretty sure Spokane’s hometown team was going to be good. It’s just that no one knew how good. The preseason Top-20 ranking. The last undefeated in the nation. A No. 1 ranking for several weeks. The first trip to the Final Four. Przemek Karnowski’s unbelievable comeback from back surgery. AP’s national coach of the year in Mark Few. One of the top players in the country in Nigel Williams-Goss. The Zags have not thrown away their shot. Spokesman-Review photographer Colin Mulvany was there all season. Now the Bulldogs are so close to the ultimate prize. They’re just like their country: Young, scrappy and hungry. Rise up, Zags. Here’s your Final Four hype video. +++ (The song used in this video is “My Shot (Rise Up Remix)” recorded by The Roots, featuring Busta Rhymes, Joell Ortiz and Nate Ruess.
