Recaps for the Seattle Mariners top affiliates for Friday night provided by team releases and news services.

Las Vegas 9, Tacoma (AAA) 1

LAS VEGAS – Travis Taijeron hit a three-run home run and had two hits, and Tyler Pill allowed just six hits over eight innings as the Las Vegas 51s (14-15) topped the Tacoma Rainiers (17-10) 9-1 on Friday.

Pill (2-0) allowed one run while striking out four and walking two to get the win.

Tacoma cut the deficit to 2-1 in the sixth after Tyler Smith hit an RBI single, driving in Seth Mejias-Brean.

Las Vegas answered in the bottom of the inning, scoring four runs to extend its lead. The 51s sent 10 men to the plate as Taijeron hit a three-run home run en route to the five-run lead.

The 51s later scored three runs in the seventh to finish off the blowout.

Chris Heston (2-1) went five innings, allowing four runs and four hits in the Pacific Coast League game. He also struck out two and walked three.

Mejias-Brean doubled and singled for the Rainiers.

Tulsa 5, Arkansas (AA) 4

LITTLE ROCK, Ark. – Wynston Sawyer hit a sacrifice fly in the top of the 11th inning to lead the Tulsa Drillers (12-15) to a 5-4 win over the Arkansas Travelers (12-15) on Friday.

Tim Locastro scored the go-ahead run on the sacrifice fly after he entered the game as a pinch runner on second base and advanced to third on a hit batsman.

The Travelers tied the game 4-4 in the ninth when Joey Wong hit a two-run single as part of a three-run inning.

Reliever Michael Johnson (2-0) picked up the win after he struck out two and walked one over 1 2/3 scoreless innings. Zac Curtis (0-1) went two innings, allowing one run and one hit in the Texas League game. He also struck out two and walked one. Ralston Cash recorded his first save of the season.

Kyle Garlick homered and singled, driving in two runs in the win.

Ryan Casteel singled three times, scoring a run and also driving one home for the Travelers.

Modesto (High-A) 1, Lake Elsinore 0 (10)

MODESTO, Calif. – Jordan Cowan hit a walk-off single with two outs in the 10th inning, as the Modesto Nuts beat the Lake Elsinore Storm 1-0 on Friday.

Braden Bishop scored the game-winning run after he hit a double with two outs.

Modesto starter Reggie McClain struck out 10 while allowing four hits over seven scoreless innings. Spencer Herrmann (1-1) got the win with a scoreless inning in relief while Jose Castillo (1-2) took the loss in the California League game.

The Storm were blanked for the second time this season, while the Nuts’ staff recorded their fourth shutout of the year.

Modesto improved to 4-2 against Lake Elsinore this season.

Clinton (Low-A) 6, South Bend 6

SOUTH BEND, Ind. – One day was not enough for the Clinton LumberKings who fought the South Bend Cubs to a 6-6 tie through 18 innings on Friday night at Four Winds Field.

The game is still in progress and will be picked up on Saturday night with the first pitch of the 19th inning being thrown at 4:30 p.m. CST. The regularly scheduled game will be played at 6:05 p.m. a half hour after the conclusion of the 19 inning marathon game.

The LumberKings tied the game with a four-run rally in the eighth inning that was capped by a Luis Liberato two-run home that tied the game at six and is where the game will be picked up on Saturday night.
