Spokane man suspected of multiple stalking incidents arrested after standoff with police

UPDATED: Wed., May 24, 2017

A wanted man was arrested Wednesday evening in North Spokane after a brief standoff with police.

Police received information that Steven Martin, 36, was at a home in the 500 block of East Princeton Avenue just before 6 p.m. He was wanted on a felony warrant for eluding a police vehicle and was also a suspect in five domestic violence stalking incidents, according to police.

Martin ran inside the home when police arrived and refused to come out, but he did repeatedly open the front door and the slam it shut after shouting at officers. The SWAT team arrived and Martin was arrested without incident shortly after 7 p.m.
