Liberty Lake teen injured in crash

A Liberty Lake teen was injured in a crash in Whitman County and taken by helicopter to Providence Sacred Heart Medical Center Monday afternoon.

Liam Roodhouse, 18, was a passenger in a 2000 Mercury Mountaineer attempting to pass on state Route 26 about 26 miles west of Colfax. The driver, Kailyb Hayden, also 18, was rounding a corner and swerved to avoid an oncoming vehicle, Washington State Patrol is in a news release. Hayden lost control of his car, and it rolled down an embankment.

Both passengers were wearing seat belts, and Hayden was treated at the scene.
