Crowd protests release of accused child killer Joshua Mobley
A group of protestors stood outside the Spokane County Courthouse Wednesday night protesting the release of accused child killer Joshua Mobley.
Mobley, who posted bail in March, is charged with second-degree murder in connection to the death of 9-month-old Caiden Henry in February. Mobley was Caiden’s babysitter.
Mobley’s release outraged the victim’s family, prompting them to start a petition that would change the bail statute in Washington.
The 28-year-old man is accused of killing Henry during a baby-sitting session and then concealing the death from the mother and her family.
An autopsy revealed Henry died of internal bleeding and brain hemorrhaging, according to the Spokane County Medical Examiner’s Office.
Mobley’s attorney argued in March that that he had no prior criminal history. His bond was set at $250,000.
