Education notebook: Mead theater students will present a comedy, ‘The Foreigner’

The Mead High School theater program will present a comedy, “The Foreigner,” Wednesday through Nov. 10 and Nov. 15-17 at the school theater.

Charlie who is very shy avoids conversation by pretending he cannot speak English. . One day Charlie overhears a plot to take over a local fishing lodge by a group run by a man who seems to have a hidden agenda. Charlie forms a plan to foil the plot and rescue the good owner of the lodge.

The cast includes Emily Frank, Cesar Galvan, Olivia Housden, Conner Kautzman, Skyler Kelley, Hailey Strobel, Alexa Tomkowiak, Luke Tomkowiak, Ryan Wasson and Elsa Whanger.

Performances will be at 7 p.m. at the Mead High Performing Arts Theater.

Tickets are $8 for adults, $6 for students and senior citizens. The play is not recommended for children age 12 and younger.

St. Michael’s to present ‘Cinderella’

The “Cinderella’s Glass Slipper,” a musical comedy version of the classic fairy tale, with original music and new characters, will be presented by St. Michael’s Academy.

Performances will be Nov. 17-18 at 7 p.m., and a matinee will be Nov. 19 at 2 p.m. at the school, 8500 N. St. Michael’s Road.

The cast includes Catherine King (as Cinderella); Patrick Drahman (Prince); Maggie Knoll (Stepmother); Gabrielle LeStage and Siena Knoll (Stepsisters); Mary Julia Sitzenstock (Queen); Kailey McFadden (Fairy Godmother); Ravenna Kirk (Fairy Apprentice); Thomas Netzel (Majordomo); Isaiah Emmans (Captain); Roland Cyr (Lieutenant); Katelyn Gilchrist (Troubadour); Marie Kolinsky, Mariah Vila, Peyton Welp, Kaitlin Bruggeman, Lily Solle and Regina Ochoa (Ladies of the Kingdom); Clara Macias (Cat); Flor Macias (Mouse); Giuliano Dinaro (Pumpkin); Anastasia Peek (Footman); and Amy Drahman (Horse).
