Proposed Millwood Trail will be focus of open house today

From local reports

The preliminary plans for a proposed Millwood Trail will be discussed at an open house today, according to a news release from Marlene Feist, director of strategic development for the Spokane Department of Public Works and Utilities.

The project would provide bike and pedestrian access south of Spokane River from Green Street to Felts Field, the release said.

The open house will be held 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. at the Spokane Community College’s Lair Student Center, 1810 N. Green St., in Building 6. Attendees may comment on the train alignment design and possible amenities.

The preliminary design work for the project will cost $100,000, Feist said in an email. The funding and date for the construction have not been determined, she said.
