Pendleton stores plans four-day opening event

Pendleton Woolen Mills is having a four-day grand opening of its new Spokane store in downtown’s River Park Square.

The opening of the 3,000-square-foot store, located on the mall’s second floor, will have a ribbon cutting, music and specials. Drawings will be held for various prizes and gift cards.

Events take place Thursday through Sunday.

River Park Square, 808 West Main Ave., is owned by Centennial Properties, a subsidiary of Cowles Co., which also owns The Spokesman-Review. The Pendleton store’s regular hours will be 10 a.m.-8 p.m. Monday through Saturday, and 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. Sunday.

SPi CRM call center to mark opening in Coeur d’Alene

Coeur d’Alene Mayor Steve Widmyer will speak at the grand opening of a call center Wednesday at the Silver Lake Mall. The event runs from 2 to 3 p.m.

Philippines-based SPi CRM opened the call center in the former Sports Authority location at the mall, with plans to hire 240 people by the end of the year.

The call center is the second U.S. location for SPi CRM, which has 11,000 employees across 12 locations in the U.S., Australia, Nicaragua and the Philippines. The company also operates a call center in Madison, Wisconsin.

Within a year, company officials expect the Coeur d’Alene center’s employment to double to about 500 workers.

SPi CRM provides customer relationship management services for clients across a broad array of industries, including telecommunications, travel and hospitality, financial services, retail and e-commerce. Services include voice, chat, email and social media.

SPi CRM is owned by a Japanese firm, Relia.

Post Falls job fair part of statewide ‘Hire-A-Veteran’ events

Veterans looking for work can attend a job fair from 10 a.m.-noon Wednesday at the Idaho Department of Labor in Post Falls, 600 N. Thornton St.

The job fair is part of “Hire-A-Veteran” events across the state, which feature more than 100 employers in fields such as information technology, manufacturing, engineering, health care, social work and food service.

Veterans should bring copies of their resumes, dress to meet potential employers and information required to fill out job applications. Spouses also are welcome to attend.

Engine lubricant company founder to address SWEDA event in Colfax

Pavlo Rudenko, founder of Colfax-based TriboTEX, will give a presentation on how the company’s lubricant uses smart nano-particle technology to reverse wear in engines while improving fuel efficiency, increasing horsepower and reducing engine noise.

During the Southwest Washington Economic Development Association event is part of Global Entrepreneurship Week, geared toward entrepreneurs, business owners and those who would like to learn more about the TriboTEX product. The networking event will be 5-7 p.m. Nov. 15 at Colfax Center, 102 S. Main St., in Colfax.

Rudenko will discuss company highlights, including its startup phase, recent innovation awards, $1 million in grants from the National Science Foundation.
