Two Vandals honored in Big Sky volleyball

The honors came rolling in on Monday for Idaho volleyball, coming off a 2-0 showing on the court last week. The Big Sky Conference named Sarah Sharp and Alycia Wodke its Offensive and Defensive Players of the Week, respectively.

Sharp, a junior outside hitter from Filer, Idaho, fueled the Vandal offense this past week, posting 42 total kills. Idaho picked up a pair of wins over Northern Colorado and North Dakota to close out the home season. The Idaho junior opened the week with 18 kills and a .325 attack percentage in the Vandals’ sweep of the Bears. She matched a career-high with 24 kills in Idaho’s five-set win over UND. Sharp averaged 5.25 kills per set for the week. Sharp improves to fourth in the conference with 3.65 kills per set.

Wodke, a junior libero from Eugene, Ore., was all over the floor last week for Idaho. She averaged 5.62 digs per set on the week. The Idaho junior began the week with 22 digs in Idaho’s 3-0 win over UNC. She followed up with her first double-double of the season against North Dakota. She ended the night with 23 digs and 10 assists, helping Idaho past the Fighting Hawks, 3-2. In all matches, Wodke ranks fourth in the Big Sky with an average of 4.63 digs per set.
