The Zags led just 60-57 midway through the second half before going on a 17-0 spurt to open up a 20-point lead. Killian Tillie, Corey Kispert and Silas Melson provided most of the offense and Jacob Larsen added three blocks, one assist and one basket.
Offensive player of the game
Sophomore forward Killian Tillie didn’t miss a shot in the first half and helped the Zags stay on Utah State’s heels when their defense was struggling. Tillie had 12 points in the first half and finished with 20 on 8-of-11 shooting. He also had nine rebounds, three offensive.
Defensive player of the game
Freshman center Jacob Larsen played only seven minutes but he came up with three huge blocks in Gonzaga’s decisive second-half run. Larsen rejected shots by Crew Ainge, Daron Henson and Dwayne Brown Jr. to help the Zags pull away.
