The family and friends of a 16-year-old refugee from Sudan are asking the public’s help in locating the missing teen.

Adam Sidiq, who also goes by “CJ Sidiq” or “Adam Adam Sidiq,” was last seen Friday near his family’s apartment off Sunset Highway 7th Avenue, near Government Way, according to a missing person’s flier shared online.

The boy is a refugee from Sudan and has lived in Spokane for two years, according to the poster. He is also a student at Lewis and Clark High School, said family and friends who posted on Nextdoor, a neighborhood-specific social media network, Sunday evening.

Kevin Morrison, spokesman for Spokane Public Schools, said Sidiq was not at school Monday morning.

Sidiq is described as black, with a Sudanese ethnicity, 5-foot-4-inches tall, weighs 140 pounds, and has brown hair with dark brown eyes. He has a scar above his right eyebrow and may be carrying a small leather backpack.

According to friends and family, he is known to travel on High Drive when heading to the South Hill, and also frequents the lower South Hill and downtown Spokane. He does not have a phone and may try to access the internet at the downtown Spokane Public Library.
