Gonzaga’s Johnathan Williams named to All-Tournament team

PORTLAND – Gonzaga senior forward Johnathan Williams was selected to the PK80’s Motion Bracket All-Tournament team.

Williams averaged 23.3 points, seven rebounds and two blocks to help the Zags to a 2-1 tournament record and third place in the Motion Bracket. He scored in double figures in all three games and poured in a career-high 39 points in Friday’s double-overtime loss to Florida.

Williams scored four points in overtime as GU outlasted Texas 76-71 on Sunday at the Moda Center.

Williams was joined on the All-Tournament team by Duke’s Marvin Bagley III (MVP) and Florida’s Jalen Hudson, KeVaughn Allen and Chris Chiozza. Bagley had 30 points and 15 rebounds in Duke’s 87-84 comeback win over Florida in the championship game.

Michigan State shut down North Carolina 63-45 to win the Victory Bracket. The Spartans’ Cassius Winston was named MVP. He was joined on the All-Tournament team by Michigan State’s Joshua Langford, North Carolina’s Luke Maye, Arkansas’ Jaylen Barford and Oklahoma’s Trae Young.
