A man was taken to the hospital with apparent gunshot wounds after an incident in northeast Spokane on Monday morning.

Spokane County Sheriff’s deputies were initially called to the 8200 block of North Crestline around 11:30 a.m. Monday, police said. Investigators determined the incident occurred within city borders and Spokane police took over, said Officer John O’Brien, a Spokane police spokesman.

O’Brien said he couldn’t comment on the extent of the man’s injuries. Police also did not say Monday what led to the shooting, or whether they were looking for any suspects.

O’Brien said the investigation is ongoing. Crestline was closed between Magnesium and Lincoln roads on Monday afternoon as police investigated the scene.
