COEUR d’ALENE – Jesse A. Bishop, 60, remained missing after the boat he was in capsized early Tuesday morning at the East Fernan boat launch.

Around 5:10 a.m., the Kootenai County Sheriff’s rescue team responded to a call about a drowning after a 10-foot aluminum boat occupied by Bishop, a Spokane man, and 19-year-old Nathaniel C. Storch overturned.

Friends and families took to Facebook to remember Bishop, a musician in the Spokane area who was a member of such rock bands as The Edge and Wolfgang.

“Thank you for all the great music bro, I know one day I’ll rock with you again,” James Davis posted with a picture of Bishop performing. “Ashes to ashes dust to dust, your spirit lives on my brother. #JesseBishop”

“RIP to my cousin Jesse,” posted Judi Bishop Roach with a video of Bishop playing a metal guitar on stage.

“R.I.P. Jesse Bishop. This week has hurt the music community deep into our souls. Heartfelt thoughts and prayers to his family and friends,” M&M Promotions posted.

A dive team conducted an underwater search for Bishop on Tuesday, but the search was slowed due to weeds in the area.

Storch, who was wearing a life jacket, was able to swim to shore. Bishop wasn’t wearing a life jacket, according to the Sheriff’s Office.
