Woman receives head injury in late-night shooting near Moses Lake

The Grant County Sheriff’s Office says a woman received “a grazing injury to her scalp” Sunday night when she was shot while driving through a residential neighborhood just outside Moses Lake.

The sheriff’s office said several people called 911 around 11 p.m. to report shots being fired from a white Mercedes or Lexus SUV that appeared to be chasing another car through the neighborhood.

The woman also called 911 after she was shot and said the SUV had been chasing her vehicle, according to the sheriff’s office. She was treated by medics and released.

The sheriff’s office didn’t indicate a possible motive for the shooting but said deputies and Moses Lake police detectives are investigating whether the shooting began within city limits.

The sheriff’s office asked anyone with information about the shooting to call (509) 762-1160 or submit an anonymous tip to crimetips@grantcountywa.gov.
