Washington state man to face trial after N. Idaho killing

SANDPOINT – A Washington state man charged with first-degree murder following the killing of a Washington state cabdriver in northern Idaho has been ordered to stand trial.

The Bonner County Daily Bee reported a Bonner County judge on Wednesday ruled that there’s enough evidence for 20-year-old Jacob Corban Coleman of Puyallup to be bound over for trial in 1st District Court.

Police say Coleman in August called a cab and 22-year-old Gagandeep Singh of Spokane picked him up.

Authorities say Coleman told police he became homicidal and bought a knife during a stop at a store.

Singh stopped in Kootenai, Idaho, when it became clear Coleman didn’t have a destination. Police say Coleman then stabbed Singh, who died at the scene.
