Semi crash Tuesday closes Highway 2

A semi hauling other semi trucks hit an overpass west of Fairchild Air Force Base on U.S. Highway 2 Tuesday afternoon, tipping over and blocking the roadway.

Trooper Jeff Sevigney, spokesman for the Washington State Patrol, said the driver of the truck was uninjured. No other vehicles were involved in the crash.

Sevigney said the semi was headed westbound when it hit a railroad overpass just west of the Air Force base, rolled and blocked both lanes of the highway. A detour is in place and traffic was mostly unaffected, Sevigney said.
