Football: Blake Transue helps West Valley edge Colville

Blake Transue had 160 yards passing and a short touchdown run to help West Valley (2-0) nip Colville (1-1) 13-12 in a nonleague game on Saturday.

Chase Howat kicked field goals of 37 and 40 yards.

Colville forced six turnovers, including Tristan Lewis’ 24-yard fumble return touchdown in the fourth quarter.

Lakeland 34, East Valley 18: Josh Brant rushed for 11 yards with a touchdown and visiting Lakeland (1-2) handled East Valley (1-1). Christian Johnson threw for 281 yards and three touchdowns for East Valley. Roderick Fisher had six catches for 157 yards and one TD.

Riverside 44, Bonners Ferry 0: Michael Zanoni rushed for 73 yards with two touchdowns and Riverside (2-0) routed visiting Bonners Ferry (0-2). Riverside rushed 39 times for 264 yards.

Moscow 38, Timberlake 7: Peyton Broenneke passed for 265 yards with five touchdowns and visiting Moscow (2-1) routed Timberlake (0-3). Jake Kiblen caught seven passes for 190 yards with three touchdowns, while Trevor Dismukes rushed for 108 yards on 18 carries. Joseph Follini recorded Timberlake’s only score of the game on a 25-yard run in the fourth quarter.

Selkirk 38, Pomeroy 20: Jay Link passed for a pair of touchdowns and added three more on the ground and visiting Selkirk (2-0) defeated Pomeroy (0-1). Peter McAnerin tallied a pair of receiving touchdowns on 90 yards for the Rangers.

Almira/Coulee-Hartline 48, Cusick 6: McGuire Isaak passed for 172 yards with three touchdowns and rushed for another to lead the Warriors (1-1) over the Panthers (1-1) in Coulee City.

Northeast 2B

Northwest Christian 32, Springdale 7: Silas Perreiah had 11 carries for 133 yards and three touchdowns to lead visiting Northwest Christian (2-0) over Springdale (0-2) 32-7. NWC’s Karsten Kershinar recorded his second punt return for a touchdown in as many games this season.

Davenport 38, Kettle Falls 21: Justin Reagan ran for 204 yards and two TDs and the visiting Gorillas (2-0, 2-0) defeated the Bulldogs (0-2, 0-2). Kettle Falls got two touchdowns by Leo Clendennen and Jordon Clendennen, but the biggest score of the game came when Junior McIneily blew past the Davenport defense for 69 yards to score as time expired.

Northeast 1B

Columbia 58, Inchelium 8: Frank Hamel rushed for 217 yards with three touchdowns to lead visiting Columbia (2-0, 1-0) over Inchelium (0-1, 0-1). Hamel’s TDs covered 55, 79 and 50 yards. Inchelium quarterback Damion Delacruz hurt his shoulder late in the game and made the shift to receiver, where he reeled in an 82-yard touchdown pass for the Hornets’ only score of the game.

Northport 42, Wellpinit 26: Kade Middlesworth rushed for 200 yards and passed for 150 more to help visiting Northport (1-1) down Wellpinit (0-1). Phillip Garcia rushed for touchdowns of 72 and 9 yards, and had scoring passes of 80 and 60 yards to lead Wellpinit.
