Associated Press

BILLINGS – A pickup truck collided head-on with a school bus in northeastern Montana, killing the drivers of both vehicles and injuring four eighth-graders on their way to Havre for a field trip.

The Montana Highway Patrol says the pickup crossed the center line of U.S. Highway 2 about 15 miles west of Glasgow on Tuesday morning.

Trooper Mitch Willett tells The Billings Gazette that the female driver of the pickup and the male bus driver for Glasgow Public Schools died at the scene. Their names were not immediately released.

An adult chaperone and the four students were taken to the hospital in Glasgow for treatment of injuries.

Willett did not know the extent of their injuries.
