Note from ex-principal

To all of the past students, all their parents, all their relatives, to all that were involved, to each of the injured and the family of the deceased and to all of the school district:

I have completed my career as teacher, principal, superintendent, counselor and coach. I have held, helped, disciplined, assisted, and I have so many times wished for the ability to change “what is.” This day far exceeds my past. In one day and in one minute, I was given a lasting thought - why, when, who, oh dear God - No!!

I join with the many and offer my help. I know your anguish and I know your beliefs. You must use all, you will use all and you will believe. It is the glue that holds us all to each. Sorry and tears is all I have. Again, I cannot change “what is.”

Robert D. LaLonde, former principal of Freeman High School
