ZZ Top, Sublime with Rome, Phillip Phillips headline Festival at Sandpoint

It’s no April Fools’ Day prank; the lineup for the 2018 Festival at Sandpoint has been announced early.

“We’re really announcing it early because we had all of our acts in place,” Executive Director Dyno Wahl said. “We also saw that most of the other venues in the area have announced their seasons, and we owe it to the fans to let them know what’s happening. People are making summer plans early. There was a time when there was not much going on in the summer, and we used to announce in mid-May. We don’t have that luxury anymore, so people like planning ahead.”

The festival runs Aug. 2-12 at War Memorial Field. Tickets go on sale Sunday at 8 a.m. through www.festivalatsandpoint.com or by calling (208) 265-4554 during business hours.

The first weekend features:

Aug. 2: Big Head Todd and the Monsters. $44.95/general admission.

Aug. 3: Amos Lee. $59.95/general admission; $84.95/early entry.

Aug. 4: ZZ Top, which recently canceled its July 29 performance at Northern Quest Resort and Casino. $79.95/general admission; $104.95/early entry.

Aug. 5: Family Concert. $6/general admission.

The second weekend features:

Aug. 9: Greensky Bluegrass. $39.95/general admission. A ticket to Brewfest is $10.

Aug. 10: Sublime with Rome. $64.95/general admission; $89.95/early entry.

Aug. 11: Phillip Phillips and Gavin DeGraw. $74.95/general admission; $99.95/early entry.

Aug. 12: Grand Finale with Spokane Symphony, conducted by Gart Sheldon. Complimentary wine tasting for those 21 and older. $39.95/general admission.

“It’s not an April Fool’s joke,” Wahl said with a laugh. “It’s an Easter golden egg.”
