Finish the Rail Trail

At this point it is pretty obvious that our three Ferry County commissioners are out to stop the Ferry County Rail Trail from being completed. They have disregarded the non-motorized vote, refused to support the community-designed Rail Trail Plan update, undermined 12 years of volunteer work and put at risk hundreds of thousands of dollars worth of state and federal trail grants, not to mention the matching donations from supporters that include Kinross, Stotts Construction and Pearl Jam.

What this community has accomplished is nothing short of a miracle given our small population and the lack of resources. We seized an opportunity and are pulling ourselves up by our bootstraps with the help of much-needed state and federal trail grants.

Our safe, healthy community connector and potential tourist dollars have been put on hold for no good reason. With leadership like this it is no wonder Ferry County is one of the poorest in the state.

Please let us finish our trail.
