Prep softball roundup: West Valley pounds Ferris

Monday’s prep softball results:

West Valley 13, Ferris 2 (5): Jillian Taylor hit a three-run home run and the Eagles defeated the winless Saxons in nonleague play at West Valley.

Cheney 16-11, Clarkston 6-0: Logan Krantz had three hits, including a double, and the Blackhawks defeated the visiting Bantams in six innings in the opener. Shyla Courchaine pitched four innings, only giving up one hit while striking out six and the Blackhawks defeated the Bantams in the nightcap.

Colfax 22-21, Reardan 3-1: Perry Imler had a double and a triple and the visiting Bulldogs defeated the Indians in three innings in the opener. Abbie Miller, Chelsea Becker and Kennedy Schmidt each hit a home run in the nightcap to help the Bulldogs complete the sweep in four innings.

Inchelium 16-12, Cusick 6-2: Amaya Simpson had two doubles and Meika Heath pitched a complete game striking out 10 as the Hornets beat the visiting Panthers in five innings in the opener. Coley Simpson hit two triples and a double and the Hornets defeated the Panthers in five innings in the second game.

Riverside 10, Priest River 8: Maddie Winkel and Maddie Erickson both had two hits and two RBIs and the Rams defeated the visiting Spartans in nonleague play.
