From staff reports

Christian Padilla went 4 for 5 with a grand slam and Justin Lutz hit the winning homer in the eighth inning as Community Colleges of Spokane completed a Northwest Athletic Conference baseball sweep over Walla Walla on Wednesday with an 8-6 win at Spokane Falls CC.

The sweep allowed CCS (22-6, 9-1) to remain tied for first in the East Region with Yakima Valley (27-5, 9-1). The Sasquatch will host Yakima Valley in a doubleheader Saturday.

Padilla’s grand slam in the second game gave the Sasquatch a 5-4 lead. Mitch Dean added a solo homer in the seventh to tie the game at 6 before Lutz’s two-run shot in the eighth. Reed Harrington picked up the victory with two scoreless innings of relief.

Rhyse Frey earned the first-game win with three innings of hitless relief. Levi Brenneman finished 3 for 4 with one run and one RBI; Ducham went 2 for 5 and added two runs; and Brayden Olson went 2 for 4 with two RBIs.
