A 26-year-old man was hospitalized and charged with driving under the influence Monday after crashing his car on a highway in Pend Oreille County.
Catlin R. Sargent, of Metaline, was taken to Providence Sacred Heart Medical Center after crashing his Lexus sedan shortly after 3 p.m.
The Washington State Patrol said Sargent was intoxicated and failed to negotiate a curve while traveling north on Highway 31. The car rolled and came to rest on the roadway, blocking both lanes.
A passenger, Josua P. Erickson, 29, also of Metaline, was injured but not taken to the hospital, according to the WSP.
