Hangman Creek canyon hike scheduled with geologist Hamilton

Learn about this region’s dramatic geologic history during a guided hike Aug. 18.
The 2-mile hike takes participants through the Hangman Creek canyon with frequent stops for geologist Michael Hamilton to discuss the features created by the Ice Age floods. The hike includes geology, cultural history and updates on the Hangman Creek trail project.
The hike will start at the parking lot in People’s Park in Spokane at the intersection of West Clarke and Riverside avenues. The 90-minute hike will start at 1 p.m.
The hike is limited to 20 and advance registration is required. The fee is $15 for each hiker. To register, visit iafi.org/Events.
