Boys basketball: Jake Groves scores 22, Shadle Park sneaks past Clarkston 73-67

Jake Groves scored 22 points and visiting Shadle Park (2-1) beat Clarkston (0-2) 73-67 on Thursday in nonleague boys basketball. Tru Allen led the Bantams with 28 points. Shadle was ultra-efficient from the free throw line, hitting 19 of 21 from the free-throw line. Nian Allen added 15 points for the Highlanders. Alex Italia had 13 for the Bantams.

West Valley 57, Lakeside 55: Nick Drynan hit the game-winning shot with five seconds left and the Eagles (3-0) slipped past the visiting Eagles (2-2). Drynan finished with 19 points. Micah Holmes led Lakeside with 19 points. The Eagles had a chance to tie it up, but they missed a layup and a putback attempt.

St. George’s 73, Medical Lake 50: Dan Rigsby scored 24 points and the Dragons (4-0) defeated the visiting Cardinals (2-2). Sam Gollehon led Medical Lake with 15 points.

Tekoa-Rosalia 71, Springdale 33: Craig Mueller scored 19 points and the Timberwolves (2-1) beat the visiting Chargers (2-3). Konan Martushoff scored 13 points for Springdale.

Bonners Ferry 64, Kettle Falls 47: Seth Bateman had 31 points and the Badgers (2-2) beat the visiting Bulldogs (3-2). Charlie Andrews led Kettle Falls with 17 points.

Mullan 42, Lake City C 37: Sheldon Trogden scored 13 points and the Tigers (2-3) defeated the Lake City C team.

Timberlake 49, Sandpoint 46.
