GSL basketball: Mt. Spokane boys, girls sweep ‘Pack the Palace’ games against rival Mead

Tyson Degenhart poured in 27 points for the Mt. Spokane boys and Aspyn Adams scored 23 for the girls as the Wildcats swept visiting Mead in the “Pack the Palace” rivalry games on Saturday.

JT Smith added 23 points, including five 3-pointers, as the Wildcats (6-1 overall, 2-1 Greater Spokane League) handled the Panthers 88-67 in the boys game.

Tyson Rogalette paced Mead (1-5, 0-4) with 17 points, while Aiden Prado scored 12 points.

Aspyn Adams scored 23 points, Jayda Noble was 7 of 7 from the free-throw line and scored 16 points and the Wildcats (7-0, 2-0) beat the Mead girls 78-51.

Erica Nessan led the Panthers (3-5, 0-3) with 13 points, while Alicia Suggs added 11 points.

Mead travels to North Central on Tuesday, while Mt. Spokane hosts Lewis and Clark.

Boys

Post Falls 64, Central Valley 43: Alex Horning scored 18 points and the Trojans (3-2) beat the visiting Bears (3-3) in nonleague action.

Colby Gennett added 14 points for Post Falls, while Quinn Johnson led Central Valley with nine points.

Shadle Park 77, Kellogg 38: Jake Groves scored 16 points with four 3-pointers and the Highlanders (5-1) defeated the visiting Wildcats (2-5).

Shadle Park held Kellogg to three points in the first quarter. The Highlanders scored in double figures each quarter.

Brennen Atkins led Kellogg with 10 points.

Genesis Prep 62, Rogers 56: Johnny Hillman scored 28 points and the Jaguars scored 15 points in the fourth quarter to hold off the visiting Pirates (2-5). Gavyn Betholf paced Rogers with 19 points.

Girls

Central Valley 55, Post Falls 44: Camryn Skaife and Tomekia Whitman scored 12 points apiece and the visiting Bears (4-1) beat the Trojans (2-6).

Skaife hit three of CV’s five 3-pointers. Bubba Gleaves led Post Falls with 13 points.

Kellogg 67, Shadle Park 25: Kat Rauenhorst and Kaitlin Senteney scored nine points apiece and the visiting Wildcats (4-4) defeated the Highlanders (1-6).

La Nia Thompson led Shadle Park with nine points.

Genesis Prep 45, Rogers 34: Rachel Schroeder scored 18 points and the Jaguars topped the visiting Pirates (0-7). WSU-bound Bella Murekatete added 10 points for Genesis Prep.
