Kootenai County Sheriff’s deputies discovered a body Monday morning in a wooded area near the Walmart in Hayden.
Deputies and medical personnel responded to the area shortly after 8 a.m. after a person was reported to be “unresponsive,” the sheriff’s office said in a news release. Detectives were called in after the person was confirmed dead.
The sheriff’s office said it was working to notify relatives and did not release the name of the dead individual.
There were no obvious signs of trauma, and the cause of death was unknown, the sheriff’s office said. An autopsy was scheduled for Tuesday.
