Boys basketball: Jacob Wells scores 25 points, Pullman wins eighth straight

Jacob Wells scored 25 points and visiting Pullman (8-0, 3-0) held off West Valley (5-2, 2-1) 57-48 on Tuesday in a Great Northern League game.

Nick Drynan scored 23 points for the Eagles.

Cheney 81, East Valley 42: Devin Cook scored 22 points and the Blackhawks (3-3, 2-1) defeated the visiting Knights (2-7, 0-4). Nicolas Berman added 14 points for Cheney and Thomas Baycroft scored 13 points.

Northeast A

Freeman 49, Colville 48: Dylan Oja scored 17 points and the visiting Scotties (3-5, 1-2) defeated the Indians (0-7, 0-3). Jacob Lindquist led Colville with 14 points.

Deer Park 60, Newport 56: Chase Wisinger drained a key free throw with nine seconds remaining and the Stags (8-0, 4-0) held off the visiting Grizzlies (4-1, 2-1). Jobie Gelder and Dawson Youngblood scored 18 points apiece for Deer Park. Tug Smith scored a game-high 20 points for Newport.

Lakeside (WA) 83, Riverside 49: Micah Holmes scored 23 points with 14 rebounds and the Eagles (5-3, 2-1) raced past the visiting Rams (2-6, 0-3). Landon Harrington added 21 points for Lakeside. Jordan Nortz led Riverside with 19 points.

Odessa 68, Valley Christian 14: Ryan Moffet scored 30 points and the visiting Tigers (4-0) defeated the Panthers (3-4, 1-3).


Oakesdale 49, Asotin 47: Evan Henning stole the ball in the final seconds and hit a layup as the buzzer sounded and the visiting Nighthawks (5-3) defeated the Panthers (2-4). Kieron Anderson led Oaksdale with 19 points.

Cusick 55, Chewelah 51: Colton Seymour scored 19 points and the Panthers (5-1) beat the visiting Cougars (2-5). Nick Franks led Chewelah with 14 points.

Almira/Coulee-Hartline 50, Lind-Ritzville/Sprague 40: Hayden Loomis scored 19 points and the visiting Warriors (3-1) topped the Broncos (3-4). Bryce Kelly led Lind-Ritzville/Sprague with 17 points.

Wellpinit 53, Springdale 51: Brendan Andrew scored 15 points with 10 rebounds and the Redskins (3-3) defeated the visiting Chargers (3-4).


Clarkston 58, Post Falls 54: Brandton Chatfield scored 18 points and the visiting Bantams (2-4) defeated the Trojans (3-3) in a nonleague matchup. Colby Gennett led Post Falls with 23 points.

Liberty 64, Northwest Christian 59: Isaak Ottmar scored 21 points and the visiting Lancers (5-2) defeated the Crusaders (5-2). Eckahelo Simpson led Northwest Christian with 24 points, shooting 12-12 on free throws.

Wallace 51, Bonners Ferry 39: Erik Brackenbusch scored 24 points and the Miners (7-0) bested the visiting Badgers (3-4). Seth Bateman led Bonners Ferry with 13 points. Zack Welch added 19 points for Wallace.
