One killed after vehicle leaves road west of city

A passenger was killed after the vehicle in which she was traveling left the road and struck multiple trees west of Spokane.

The crash occurred about 10 miles west of the city on east Interstate 90, according to a Washington State Patrol news release.

Toshia L. Haveron, 33, was pronounced dead at the scene. The vehicle’s driver, Melissa A. Smith, 33, was injured, and has been transported to Deaconess Medical Center for treatment.
