Boys basketball: Reece Chadwick helps Colton stay alive in district tourney

Reece Chadwick scored 18 points and sixth-seeded Colton (7-15) overcame a slow start to eliminate No. 5 seed Prescott (13-11) 58-46 and stay alive in the District 9 1B tournament at Walla Walla CC.

Colton faces Touchet in another loser-out round on Friday.

Colton managed just seven points in the first quarter but rebounded to take a 28-19 halftime lead. Luke Vining scored 12 points and Matt Wolf added 11 for the Wildcats.

Jose Gonzales scored 21 points and Jonathan Cardenas added 15 to lead Prescott.

Touchet 43, Oakesdale 39: Dominic Preciado scored 14 points, Hayden Schaeffer added 10 and the fourth-seeded Indians (10-10) upset the No. 2 seed Nighthawks (17-5) in a loser-out game.

Kieron Anderson led Oakesdale with 22 points.
