Girls basketball: University knocks out Gonzaga Prep to advance to 3rd place game

Elli Boni scored 20 points and University (15-8) eliminated visiting Gonzaga Prep (14-10) 80-56 in a District 8 4A loser-out game on Tuesday.

Claire Dingus scored 15 points, Kinsley Barrington had 13 and Jasey Ramelow added 11 with three 3-pointers for U-Hi.

The Titans face Chiawana in the district third-place game for a berth to regionals on Friday at noon at the Arena.

Chiawana (19-4) eliminated Richland 53-36 on Tuesday to advance.

Makena Dodson paced G-Prep with 16 points and Mia Scelfo added 11.

District 8 3A

North Central 46, Shadle Park 30: Kyara Sayers scored 11 points and the Indians (13-11) eliminated the visiting Highlanders (3-19).

Adria Blocker scored 10 points with six rebounds, three assists and three steals for North Central.

The Indians face Kennewick in an elimination game on Thursday at 3 p.m. at the Arena.

Kennewick downed Southridge 74-46 on Tuesday to advance.

Willow Risinger led Shadle Park scorers with 11 points.

District 7 2B

Davenport 46, Liberty 39: Sydney Zeiler had 19 points and the Gorillas (19-3), rated No. 2 in WIAA, beat the No. 12 Lancers (14-8) at West Valley HS. Davenport advances to the district championship game against Colfax on Saturday. Liberty heads to a loser-out game against Lind-Ritzville-Sprague on Thursday. Maisie Burnham scored 19 points for Liberty.

Colfax 51, St. George’s 47: Carmen Gfeller scored 23 points and the No. 6 Bulldogs (18-4) defeated the No. 8 Dragons (16-6). St. George’s was led by Ceci Bergquist with 14 points and Mia Smith added 12. The Dragons face Northwest Christian in a loser-out on Thursday.

Lind-Ritzville/Sprague 52, Asotin 33: Peyton Curtis scored 16 points and the Broncos (13-11) eliminated the Panthers (7-17). Adrienne Washington scored 14 points to lead Asotin.

Northwest Christian 63, Reardan 33: Natalie Smith scored 24 points and the Crusaders (18-6) eliminated the Indians (9-15). Kim Dewey led Reardan with 21 points.
