Police looking for person of interest in downtown Spokane shooting

Spokane police are searching for a person of interest in a downtown shooting late Monday night.

At about 12:40 a.m., police responded to the area of Sprague Avenue and Jefferson Street, where they found a man suffering from a gunshot wound, police wrote in a news release. The man was transported to a local hospital in critical condition.

The shooting happened outside of KHQ Local News’ office building on Sprague Avenue, which captured the shooting on surveillance video.

According to the video, a sedan pulls up to a man on a bicycle near the intersection, shoots him then drives away west on Sprague. It turns around, heads south on Jefferson then east on First Avenue.
