Police investigating death near Wells Fargo building

Police investigated reports of a person jumping off of the Wells Fargo Center in downtown Spokane Tuesday afternoon.

Spokane police closed First Avenue between Wall Street and Howard Street at around 12:30 p.m. after witnesses reported a person falling onto the sidewalk from the top of the 18-story building.

As they do with all unattended deaths, investigators were treating the death as a homicide, though early indication was that it was an apparent suicide.
