Roy Moore’s ‘Jewish’ attorney practices Christianity

MONTGOMERY, Ala. – Defeated U.S. Senate candidate Roy Moore’s wife has identified the “Jewish” attorney she referred to at a campaign rally. He’s a practicing Christian.

Kayla Moore created a stir just before her husband lost to Democrat Doug Jones in the Alabama senate race when she rebutted accusations that she and Moore are anti-Semitic by declaring that “one of our attorneys is a Jew.”

She confirmed to the Associated Press that she was referring to Martin Wishnatsky, who worked for Moore when he was chief justice and also at the couple’s private Foundation for Moral Law.

Wishnatsky told the AP in an email on Friday that while his family is Jewish, he also considers himself a Christian.

“I am a Jewish man who has received Christ as Savior,” he wrote. “Some media outlets delight in mocking the Moores. Kayla’s remark about a Jewish attorney provided an occasion to indulge that inclination. My experience with the Moores is that they treat everyone alike as persons created in the image of God.”

Kayla Moore drew ridicule online for the comment she made while introducing her husband during an election-eve rally, after saying her husband had wrongly been depicted as disliking Jewish people and African-Americans.

On social media this week, she said some media outlets had incorrectly speculated that the Jewish lawyer she referred to that night is a different attorney who had represented one of the couple’s sons and happens to be a vocal supporter of Jones.

“Once again ‘Fake News’ got it wrong,” Kayla Moore wrote.
