Kitsap County investigators name person of interest in quadruple homicide

BREMERTON – Investigators have a named a person of interest in a 2017 quadruple homicide case.

Christale Lynn Careaga and two teens were found dead in the family’s burning home near Lake Tahuyeh.

Her husband, John, was found dead at a tree farm days later.

Kitsap County Sheriff’s Office officials named 39-year-old Danie Jay Kelly Jr. as a person of interest on Thursday.

Lawyer Ryan Witt, who is representing Kelly in a separate case, declined to comment.

Investigators say Kelly had some type of relationship with the victims, but are not calling him a suspect.

Detective Lt. Van Gesen said investigators believe he has relevant information about the murders.
