Gonzaga was hanging on to a six-point lead and not having much success against USF’s zone, but the Zags fed Johnathan Williams and the senior forward dropped in a jump hook with 2:02 left. GU was able to hit free throws down the stretch to hold off the Dons.

Johnathan Williams delivered 17 points, two offensive rebounds and a team-high three assists. He connected on a jump hook near the 2-minute mark to boost Gonzaga’s lead to 71-63. Williams made 7 of 12 attempts and 3 of 5 free throws.

Defensive player of the game

Rui Hachimura came up with two key blocks in the final 2:20, first swatting Frankie Ferrari and then Souley Boum, both on drives to the rim. Hachimura collected eight defensive rebounds, three blocks and one steal.
