Boys basketball: Clarkston upsets No. 9-rated West Valley

Gus Hagestad and Brandton Chatfield scored 12 points apiece and Clarkston (6-7, 3-4) upset No. 9-rated West Valley (11-4, 5-2) 55-52 in Great Northern League play on Friday.

Collin Sather made it a one-point game with a late field goal, but Chatfield sank two from the line to seal it. Sather led the Eagles with 20 points.

Pullman 71, Cheney 57: Jake Wells scored 29 points and the No. 8-rated Greyhounds (13-2, 7-0) beat the visiting Blackhawks (6-9, 3-4). Nicolas Berman and Jake Berman paced Cheney with 18 points apiece.

Northeast A

Freeman 89, Colville 51: Michael Coumont scored 25 points the visiting No. 2-rated Scotties (14-0, 9-0) cruised past the Indians (4-11, 1-8). Devin Lembcke led Colville with 14 points.

Newport 65, Deer Park 35: Koa Pancho scored 23 points, Danny Bradbury added 20 and the visiting No. 7-rated Grizzlies (11-4, 7-2) raced past the Stags (6-7, 4-4). Isaac Berglund led Deer Park with 13 points.

Lakeside 83, Riverside 50: Tristan Cox scored 14 points and the No. 15-rated Eagles (8-7, 6-3) handled the visiting Rams (2-13, 0-9). TJ Trepanier led Riverside with 13 points.

Medical Lake 80, Chewelah 70: Derek Steege scored 23 points the visiting Cardinals (7-7, 6-4) topped the Cougars (7-7, 4-5). Dawson Youngblood had 22 points for Chewelah and Gavin Parrot added 20.

Northeast 2B

St. George’s 84, Reardan 59: Ben Adams scored 22 points the visiting No. 1-rated Dragons (14-0, 10-0) defeated the Indians (3-11, 2-8). Andrew Alsept led Reardan with 15 points.

Liberty 80, Kettle Falls 57: Justin Jeske scored 22 points with 10 rebounds and the No. 9-rated Lancers (11-2, 9-2) coasted by the visiting Bulldogs (3-10, 2-8). Matt Thompson and Marcelo Mendez led the Bulldogs with 17 points apiece.

Northwest Christian 65, Tekoa-Rosalia 46: Josh Maynard scored 20 points, Jacob Gray added 16 and the visiting No. 11-rated Crusaders (8-6, 7-2) beat the Timberwolves (4-10, 1-9). Garrett Naught led Tekoa-Rosalia with 17 points.

Colfax 57, Springdale 41: Carson Cloaninger scored 23 points and the No. 16-rated Bulldogs (11-4, 9-2) beat the visiting Chargers (6-7, 3-7). Dominic Abrahamson and Evan Kitt paced Springdale with eight points apiece.

Lind-Ritzville/Sprague 44, Wilbur-Creston 21: Bryce Kelly scored nine points and the Broncos (9-5, 6-4) topped the visiting Wildcats (2-12, 2-8). LRS held Wilbur-Creston to two field goals.

Davenport 56, Asotin 45: Jay Burt scored 15 points – all in the second half – with 11 rebounds and the visiting Gorillas (7-7, 6-5) topped the Panthers (4-8, 4-6). Jaden Flett added 14 points and A.J. Floyd had 11 for Davenport. Eli Engledow led Asotin with 18 points.

Odessa 85, Northport 19: Ryan Moffet registered 18 points and the No. 4-rated Tigers (15-2, 11-0) routed the visiting Mustangs (5-10, 3-9). Lane Lobe added 14 points, five rebounds and four assists for Odessa, while Tim DeWulf scored 10 points. Trenton Baribault led Northport with nine points.

Almira/Coulee-Hartline 69, Curlew 11: Maguire Isaak poured in 22 points and the No. 6-rated Warriors (12-4, 9-2) routed the visiting Cougars (1-14, 1-13). Reese Isaak and Hayden Loomis added 13 points apiece for ACH. Jayden Thomas led Curlew with seven points.

Wellpinit 96, Cusick 79: Butch Flett scored 38 points with 14 rebounds the visiting No. 8-rated Redskins (11-5, 8-3) handled the Panthers (10-5, 9-3). Kobe Seymour scored 19 points, Ethan Hardie and Colton Seymour added 14 apiece for Cusick.

Selkirk 51, Columbia 45: Jay Link scored 19 points and the Rangers (78-7, 7-5) outlasted the visiting Lions (9-5, 7-4). Corbin Nelson led Columbia with 19 points.

Pomeroy 42, Colton 27: Jake Tewalt scored 11 points, Ryan Wolf added 10 and the visiting No. 1-rated Pirates (15-0, 8-0) beat the Wildcats (3-10, 3-6). Reece Chadwick led Colton with 10 points.

Oakesdale 64, Garfield-Palouse 46: Jacob Himes scored 19 points and the Nighthawks (12-3, 7-2) beat the visiting No. 15-rated Vikings (10-4, 5-2). Ely Hawkins led Garfield-Palouse with 12 points and 10 rebounds, while Kieron Anderson scored 16 points with 11 rebounds for Oakesdale.

Prescott 64, St. John-Endicott/LaCrosse 50: Jose Gonzales scored 29 points and the visiting Tigers (7-6, 4-4) defeated the Eagles (2-13, 1-5). Jonathan Cardenas added 16 for Prescott. Dustin Fox scored 12 points to lead St. John-Endicott/LaCrosse.

Nonleague

Priest River 39, Republic 35: Robby Johnson scored 16 points and the visiting Spartans (2-9) defeated the Tigers (5-12). Joe Koepke paced Republic with 14 points.

Post Falls 48, Lake City 47: Jacob Pfennigs scored 14 points and hit the go-ahead shot and the visiting No. 3-ranked Trojans (11-4, 3-0) defeated the Timberwolves (7-7, 1-2) in a 5A Inland Empire League game. Tanner McCliment-Call led Post Falls with 16 points. Hunter Schaffer paced Lake City with 17 points.

Coeur d’Alene 51, Lewiston 46: Sam Matheson scored 20 points and the Vikings (6-7, 2-1) held off the visiting Bengals (7-7, 0-3) in a 5A Inland Empire League game. Kale Edwards chipped in 14 points for the hosts. Donaven Santana led Lewiston with 15 points and Cody McKenzie added 13.
