Girls basketball: Sydney Abbott helps Davenport win showdown with ACH

Sydney Abbott scored 21 points and Davenport (12-3), rated No.2 in Class 2B in WIAA’s RPI system, knocked off visiting Almira/Coulee-Hartline (16-2), rated No. 5 in Class 1B, 54-39 in a nonleague showdown on Tuesday. The Gorillas led by five at intermission and outscored the Warriors 11-5 in the fourth. Tiffany Boutain led ACH with 16 points.

Great Northern League

West Valley 53, Cheney 47: Hailey Marlow scored 20 points and the Eagles (9-8, 4-5) beat the host Blackhawks (7-10, 3-6). Maggie Smith led Cheney with 14 points.

Northeast A

Medical Lake 61, Newport 23: Lexie Redell notched 16 points and the No. 6 Cardinals (15-0, 11-0) defeated the visiting Grizzlies (8-9, 4-7). Jaxyn Farmen added 14 points for Medical Lake.

Lakeside 62, Colville 33: Sienna Swannack scored 24 points and the No. 8 Eagles (13-4, 10-1) defeated the visiting Indians (7-11, 4-8). Hallie Cox paced Colville with 15 points.

Freeman 59, Riverside 40: Anna Chisholm scored 13 points and the Scotties (10-7, 8-4) beat the host Rams (4-14, 0-11). Brittney Nortz led Riverside with 17 points.

Chewelah 46, Deer Park 36: Krislyn Koler totaled 17 points, Jaelynn Skok tacked on 11 and the Cougars (9-6, 5-6) topped the visiting Stags (6-10, 3-8). JoJo Bunch netted 11 points to lead Deer Park.

Northeast 2B

Northwest Christian 55, Liberty 45: Mattea Nelson tallied 14 points and the Crusaders (11-4, 8-3) outlasted the host Lancers (10-4, 9-3). Maisie Burnham led Liberty with 26 points.

Northeast 1B

Valley Christian 46, Cusick 39: Phoebe Trigsted scored 18 points and visiting Valley Christian (11-7, 7-5) topped Cusick (4-12, 3-9). Gracie StrangeOwl led Cusick with 25 points and 10 rebounds.

Nonleague

Colton 78, Dayton 12: Dakota Patchen scored 19 points, Georgia Meyer added 12 and the Wildcats (13-1), rated No. 1 in Class 1B, beat the host Bulldogs (0-15).

Idaho

Sandpoint 57, Coeur d’Alene 49: Grace Kirshner scored 30 points and the visiting 4A Bulldogs (10-6) overcame the 5A Vikings (4-12). Emma Whiteman led Coeur d’Alene with 17 points.
