Missing woman found dead near Washington-Idaho border

The body of a woman reported missing in late December was found Jan. 14 in a drainage area near the Washington-Idaho border.

Donna M. Kemp, 58, was last seen leaving her residence in the 3600 block of South Molter Road after an argument on Dec. 27, 2017. Spokane County Sheriff’s deputies reported hikers found the woman at about 11 a.m. in the 26300 block of Appleway Ave., near Interstate 90 and Gateway Regional Park.

According to a sheriff’s office news release, the woman appeared to have succumbed to exposure and there were “no obvious signs of homicidal violence.”

When she was reported missing, she didn’t take any additional clothing, her cell phone, or money and did not contact her family members, the news release states.
