Girls basketball: Brie Holecek leads No. 1 East Valley past West Valley

Brie Holecek scored 13 points, Faith Adams added 11 and visiting East Valley (16-1, 9-1), rated No. 1 in Class 2A in WIAA’s RPI system, defeated No. 18 West Valley (9-9, 4-6) 65-40 in a Great Northern League matchup on Friday.

Hailey Marlow led West Valley with 13 points.

Northeast A

Lakeside (WA) 52, Deer Park 18: Sienna Swannack notched 15 points, Kendra Gay added 12 and the visiting No. 8 Eagles (14-4, 11-1) dispatched the host Stags (6-11, 3-9). Payge Rose and JoJo Bunch led Deer Park with six points apiece.

Newport 49, Riverside 43: Jocelin Nenema piled up 25 points with 15 rebounds and the Grizzlies (9-9, 6-7) scrambled past the visiting Rams (4-15, 0-12). Ava West led Riverside with 18 points.

Chewelah 51, Colville 45: Krislyn Koler tallied 24 points and the visiting Cougars (11-6, 6-6) edged the Indians (7-12, 4-9). Rylee Merritt led Colville with 15 points and Hallie Cox scored 10.

Northeast 2B

Davenport 59, Kettle Falls 39: Sydney Zeiler scored 19 points and the No. 2 Gorillas (13-3, 11-1) handled the host Bulldogs (6-10, 5-7). Taylor Dunlap led Kettle Falls with 17 points.

St. George’s 70, Springdale 13: Izzy Boring netted 19 points and the No. 4 Dragons (13-3, 11-1) bested the visiting Chargers (1-13, 1-11). Ceci Bergquist added 17 points and Cambrie Rickard notched 13 for St. George’s.

Colfax 70, Reardan 34: Carmen Gfeller scored 20 points and the visiting No. 7 Bulldogs (12-4, 9-2) beat the Indians (6-11, 4-9). Kim Dewey led Reardan with nine points.

Liberty 59, Asotin 39: Aleena Cook scored 28 points and the No. 14 Lancers (11-5, 10-3) beat the visiting Panthers (2-11, 2-9). Adrienne Washington led Asotin with 17 points.

Northwest Christian 70, Wilbur-Creston 20: Natalie Smith dropped 14 points and the Crusaders (12-4, 9-3) defeated the host Wildcats (3-14, 3-10). Schoe Springstead led Wilbur-Creston with 12 points.

Northeast 1B

Selkirk 59, Northport 43: Gabi Rick scored 20 points and the visiting No. 7 Rangers (16-2, 13-0) defeated the Mustangs (6-12, 3-10). Ashtyn Baribault led Northport with 20 points.

Wellpinit 54, Columbia 21: Christina Flett scored 15 points and the No. 15 Redskins (11-5, 8-4) defeated the visiting Lions (0-15, 0-13). Tori Mclain led Columbia with nine points.

Valley Christian 58, Odessa 46: Phoebe Trigsted scored 26 points and the visiting Panthers (12-7, 8-5) defeated the Tigers (5-14, 3-10). McKennah Davison led Odessa with 19 points and Maddy Wagner added 12.

Karrah Pope scored 12 points for Valley Christian.

Curlew 61, Inchelium 57: Korin Baker scored 19 points and the Cougars (12-5, 11-4) beat the visiting Hornets (13-4, 10-3). Meika Heath led Inchelium with 28 points.

Southeast 1B

Colton 61, St. John- Endicott/LaCrosse 30: Jordyn Moehrle scored 16 points and the visiting No. 1 Wildcats (14-1, 10-0) beat the Eagles (5-11, 2-7). Drew Curtis-Brewer led St. John-Endicott/LaCrosse with 11 points.

Pomeroy 48, Garfield-Palouse 43: Maddy Dixon posted 14 points, Sydney Watko added 13 and the visiting No. 2 Pirates (14-4, 7-2) defeated the No. 13 Vikings (10-6, 4-4). Katie Arrasmith netted 18 points to lead Garfield-Palouse.

Oakesdale 42, Touchet 31: Emma and Lizzy Perry scored 13 points apiece and the Nighthawks (14-3, 6-3) defeated the visiting Indians (5-7, 3-7). Dana Jaggar led Touchet with 10 points.

Nonleague

Lewiston 53, Clarkston 41: Demi Randall scored 12 points and the Bengals (15-6) beat the visiting Bantams (13-4). Ashlyn Wallace led Clarkston with 19 points.

Idaho

Lake City 45, Lakeland 24: Keara Simpson scored 16 points and the Timberwolves (12-8) defeated the visiting Hawks (4-14) in a nonleague game. Sofi Schnepf led Lakeland with six points.
