San Francisco’s trio of guards was a stern defensive test for the Zags two weeks ago. Nothing has changed, except junior guard Frankie Ferrari has been in quite the scoring groove.

The junior guard hit two 3-pointers and scored 18 points in the 75-65 home loss to Gonzaga. He followed that up with 13 points against Santa Clara, 22 against Pepperdine and 18 in Thursday’s home win over Pacific. He hit nine 3-pointers and averaged five assists in that four-game span while logging mid-30 minutes. He’s elevated his scoring (9.6) by nearly two points per game.

Josh Perkins will probably open up against Ferrari while Silas Melson tackles Souley Boum, who had 22 points in the first meeting and averages a team-high 13.8 points. Guard Jordan Ratinho, Boum and Ferrari combined for 11 3-pointers and 56 points in the first meeting with Gonzaga.
