Thank you, Gary Crooks

I read with sorrow the departure of Gary Crooks. I think he tried to give a balanced position in most of his efforts. I appreciate him and hope I get a chance to read him again.

The Spokesman-Review is not the LA Times, Washington Post or Chicago Tribune. How could it be? But it is a better paper than a lot of cities, i.e., Arizona Republic, San Diego Union Tribune, South Bend Tribune among others. The staff covers local events well and national events with fairness. I think the balanced presentation of opinion pieces are one of its strongest features.

Mr. Crooks encouraged us to read the paper and we are lucky to have such a good paper available to us.
