Man dies after diving into Twin Lakes

A man from Greenacres died Thursday after diving into Twin Lakes from a cliff, the Kootenai County Sheriff’s Office reported.

Emergency crews were called to the west side of the lower Twin Lakes at about 5:15 p.m. after Brady M. Spillane, 23, had not resurfaced following a dive into the water while with a group of friends, the sheriff’s office said in a news release.

The sheriff’s office and North Lakes Fire District launched boats with divers and located Spillane in about 26 feet of water, brought him to the surface and began life-saving measures.

He was transported to Kootenai Health where he was listed in critical condition Thursday evening. The hospital said Friday that Spillane later died.
