Criminals and gun laws

Shawn Vestal’s July 8 article, “Chicago a poor rejoinder on guns,” was an amazing support of the Second Amendment. Shawn painstakingly traced the “straw man” purchases of guns in Idaho to their illegitimate, violent use in the Chicago area. He aptly pointed out that every step of the journey was illegal.

Shawn echoed what gun owners have been saying for decades: “Criminals don’t obey the laws.” Thank you for that, Shawn. Hopefully you will take the next step and publish some of the 1 million incidents where citizens use firearms to protect themselves annually. That would begin to balance the gun debate coverage in the media.
