Two arrested after foot chase in north Spokane
Spokane police arrested two felons and recovered a stolen weapon after a foot chase Saturday in north Spokane.
Dominick M. Holmes, 21, and Raynee D. Moore, 23, fled from their vehicle near Post and Maxwell streets after a Spokane Police Anti-Crime Team attempted to make a traffic stop around 2:20 p.m., according to a Spokane Police Department news release. Holmes ran north, Moore south, as PACT officers followed and patrol units responded.
Holmes jumped the backyard fence of a residence of the 1500 block of North Post Street, and, as he did so, dropped a loaded gun to the ground. He entered the residence by the back door, causing the occupants to flee, and the home was surrounded by SPD officers. Holmes eventually surrendered and was taken into custody.
Moore was contained by the SPD’s southern perimeter and arrested.
The firearm was found to have been stolen in a vehicle prowling, according to the release.
Holmes was arrested on charges of unlawful possession of a firearm in the first degree, theft of a firearm and residential burglary. Moore was arrested for an outstanding Marshals warrant. Both are convicted felons, according to the release, and have been booked into Spokane County Jail.
