Washington state trooper stops stolen SUV with patrol car

Associated Press

PUYALLUP, Wash. – A Washington State Patrol trooper stopped a stolen SUV by ramming it as it was going the wrong way on a state highway.

Authorities said Pierce County Sheriff’s officers were chasing a stolen SUV near Puyallup on Friday afternoon when the driver turned against traffic.

That’s when the state trooper veered his patrol car into the SUV’s path, stopping it.

No one was hurt and the trooper is now being praised for his bravery for stopping the SUV in its path before it could injure any other drivers.

Both the driver and a passenger in the SUV had outstanding warrants and were arrested at the scene.
